4th Pan-African Conference on Seed Governance

The 4th Pan-African Conference on Seed Governance will take place from 2 to 4 June 2026 in N’Djamena, Chad, following previous editions held in Dakar, Dar es Salaam, and Niamey. The 2026 edition expands its focus from seed sovereignty to genetic sovereignty, addressing issues such as rights over agricultural data, pressures from trade frameworks on local varieties, and the governance of farmer seed systems, ahead of the launch of the African Union’s continental framework on seed policy.
