This year, GITEX 2024 took place in Marrakech, Morocco, from May 29 to 31. This highly anticipated event, organized by Kaoun International for the first time in Africa, offered its many guests the opportunity to explore the latest technological advancements within the continent and the Arab world, as well as on a global scale. Proof of this was the presence of high-tech giants such as Microsoft, Dell, Intel, Oracle, and other globally renowned companies in other sectors: Deloitte, KPMG, PwC. GITEX, or the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition, represents the largest African tech fair dedicated to innovative new startups.
This year, the focus was on companies dedicated to Agritech and Food-tech. Indeed, Food-tech represents an ecosystem of innovative startups in the food industry using new technologies. Agritech, on the other hand, puts the use of technology at the service of sustainable, environmentally friendly agriculture. Whether it is aquaculture, horticulture, apiculture, or forestry, this new model of agriculture greatly contributes to the development of this sector at the local and regional levels, while raising awareness among smallholder farmers about the importance of Food-tech.
