In collaboration with the FAO and UNDP, Germany has launched an initiative to fast track actions against climate change in the agriculture and land use sectors in developing countries. The initiative has a budget of €20 million. It will support 10 to 12 countries in Latin America, Asia and Africa. Its objective is to allow the consolidation of related national policies, the adoption of innovative approaches and to overcome obstacles relating to a lack of information, governance, finance and gender, amongst others.
