Farmers are often associated with hard work and uncertainties, but for those who have developed and industrialized their operations, the situation is more enviable.

The latest Forbes ranking provides a list of the ten wealthiest industrialists in the agricultural sector, and half of them are Chinese:

– Liu Yongxing – $6.6 billion: He co-founded the family-owned New Hope Group in the 1980s before launching East Hope Group a decade later, a company specializing in animal feed production.
– Liu Yonghao – $4.6 billion: Brother of the first, he remains at the helm of the family-owned New Hope Group, which is successful in the livestock sector.
– Qin Yinglin – $2 billion: Managing Muyuan Foods Co, he is the world’s leading supplier of pork.
– Fu Guangming – $1.5 billion: Head of Shengnong Development, a poultry company. He notably signed a partnership with the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant chain.
– Bao Hongxing – $1.3 billion: His company specializes in pig farming and feed production, as well as storage services.

This top 10 also includes American industrialists, such as Stewart and Lynda Resnick, owners of The Wonderful Company, and Harry Stine, owner of Stine Seed.
